Inaugural wishes

Barack Obama as the newly, overwhelmingly elected President of this country has awakened us from a terrible nightmare. The Bush administration fed our darkest thoughts. But now, the seeds of hope for a world in turmoil have been planted, hope that we will work together for a more positive world now that we seem delivered from the overwhelming despair created by our recent past.

(I am collecting thoughts and such from my extended circle on what the inauguration means, so that looking back, we’ll have a great record of this moment in space and time. Please add your thoughts.)

I’m getting the feeling from reading the economic pundits that these next four years are going to be bad for the country, in terms of jobs, and the economy of the world as a whole. In my opinion, it will be worse than one can imagine. I feel we’re going to have the best team possible at the Executive Branch, however. Let’s hope that the result is a truly admirable economic “reversal of fortune” by 2012.

I have to disagree……It wasn’t the Bush administration that sent all our jobs oversea’s ( THANK-YOU CLINTON!)……and When Bush took office FINALLY small businesses were granted the well deserved Tax break’s! This next four years is VERY scary indeed….let’s just say good bye to small businesses and hello to more WELFARE and FOOD STAMPS…..isn’t that what the democrats want anyway?

Um, Katie. Uh, hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Bush’s job creation record is awful. Check here. http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/06/11/job-creation/
or go to the government http://data.bls.gov/servlet/SurveyOutputServlet?series_id=LNS14000000&data_tool=%22EaG%22 and put 1989 in the popup to see how bushes compare to clinton.
